Who qualifies for a boiler grant? – Government Grants For School Fees

Boilgrantees must complete a two-year program of study that takes approximately 6 months to complete. Applicants must also meet the following eligibility requirements:

Brought in to Canada before December 31, 2013.

Forced to leave Canada due to a medical condition or death in a domestic partner prior to entry to Canada.

Have a domestic partner who has committed the act of murder for the sole purpose of ending a domestic partner’s life of any type with physical or financial violence, sexual or emotional abuse.

How do I be eligible?

A grant can be awarded to the boiler grant recipient upon one of four criteria set out below:

In addition to their basic education, the recipient must:

Complete the boiler grant program of study and meet the following eligibility requirements: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent Canadian degree or certificate);

Be a native or citizen of Canada.

Complete the program of study within the stipulated number of year(s) of study requirement.

A bachelor’s degree or a certificate of one of the following: The Bachelor of Applied Science The Bachelor of Business Administration the Bachelor of Engineering The bachelor’s degree program in one of the following: Chemical Engineering Engineering Physics A secondary school diploma (or equivalent)

Have a spouse, child, parent or sibling who has been granted a grant under the provisions of the legislation. In addition, the spouse, child, parent or sibling must also complete the same program of study. The recipient’s spouse, child, parent or sibling is responsible for meeting the stipulated education requirement by completing the same program of study as their spouse, child, parent or sibling. There is no legal requirement to complete the boiler grant study within one of the same three years.
