At what point are they no longer playing?
Who can have the most fun with them?
How do I get their number?
What do I get for Christmas?
Should I be worried about them getting caught?
What if the ventriloquist runs out of gas soon?
What should a ventriloquist do if I want to take them off their ventriloquist act?
Why do these people hate ventriloquism? I guess it’s because they want to be human, and can’t bear the thought of living without having to do things like sing Christmas carols.
I think they’re all idiots.
When David P. Pierce first took that fateful plunge into the depths of the internet, he didn’t think he’d be able to come back up. Now, 15 years later, after a lifetime of being addicted to the site, he was so desperate to quit that he actually left it.
“I was addicted, of course,” Pierce told me. “At 13, 13 years old, I did a whole bunch of things that had the intention of getting me addicted by the time I was 15, 20. I went through college, I was in an abusive relationship for years. I was having a lot of bad thoughts. I wasn’t living as much as I should be living. I wasn’t working as hard as I should have. I became very desperate. I made that decision to jump on the computer and find something to do, anything that would satisfy for me. I went to an Internet cafe once a week, and it was an addiction to surfing. I couldn’t get out.”
What is an Internet addiction?
I’ve been using the Internet since 1998. I’d like to say that I’m addicted to it but the truth of the matter is I probably am. I’m not even sure why I’m using it; the very idea confuses me. It’s something that I enjoy, but I don’t really know what it’s for. I’ve always imagined that it gets me through the day, the workaday business I’m dealing with. It’s a very important thing to me, and that’s the only reason I use it.
Internet addiction is just one of the many things that the Internet has given us, but it’s far from the only thing. It’s a phenomenon that, once in a while, will make some people feel something like a physical illness
