How do I price my wood projects? – Woodworking Businesses Near Me

Before I build my pieces I’ll price my materials, often using the value of the piece and the price I’m selling on it.

The price you choose to price your wood products is generally dictated by your ability to make a profit from each product. I suggest asking for prices ranging from $20 to $150.

Do you ship?

Most of my pieces are shipped through a local company – I ship internationally, and I also ship to Canada.

You can check whether your piece is shipped internationally here.

How long does it take to build the wooden piece?

The longer I work on a project the longer it takes – usually 2 to 3 months on my projects – but some are shorter.

A woodworker could potentially make their finished piece in about 6 weeks if they were very careful about how they cut their lumber and did not waste any of the product, or in about a month if they were not, but my pieces are often more complicated.

The piece is then sanded in and placed in place, often several times if needed.

My woodworking projects can be completed in a weekend or two, but some of my shorter projects take much longer.

If I get very tired, I will sometimes call or work a few evenings at a time.

How do I know if your woodworking products are suitable?

If you have been using a product for a few years before I ask you the questions on this page, you may be able to give a general opinion about the quality of the product.

If you have heard or read something about a product that would not work on your finished pieces and have purchased it or seen them elsewhere, I will not be able to help, unfortunately – you probably need to go buy one of your own.

If you have an opinion about a product that is not relevant, I will not be able to help you or advise others on which products in your collection are suitable for your project.

If I do not know the answer to your question about a type of product that you have come across, I will be unable to help you – I will just direct you towards a company that has a product similar to yours and will give you a list of suitable suppliers.

The reason I do this is to avoid getting your product sent out without testing it first, as this could cause damage in transit.
